About the author

Xu Weigang, born in the year of 1911, is a native of Changshu, Jiangsu, a contemporary Chinese mathematician and Yi scholar. In 1989, he began to get in touch with the traditional Shushu culture, focusing on the application culture of traditional mainstream Yi studies such as Liuren of the Song and Ming Dynasties, Zhengtong Ziping, Shuijing Shenxiang, Reminding Officials, Choosing Auspiciousness, Seven Politics and Four Surplus Stars, etc. The Chinese orthodox mathematics system with the academic purpose of “law, orthodox learning, and benefiting the world” has had an important influence in foreign Yi scholars. In 2001, he was invited to participate in the twelfth Anyang and Modernization Symposium, and gave a special academic report on the Big Liuren, which aroused great repercussions. From 2002 to 2003, he published many important papers on Yi studies in “Yi You Yuan Di”, “Yi Hai Fang Zhou” and “Zhi Hui Yuan”, which attracted widespread attention from the Yi scholars. In 2004, he published the practical monographs of modern Yi learning, “The Universe in the Sleeves–A New Exploration of the Great Liuren” and “Zi Ping Shu Essence”, which have been widely acclaimed. In 2005, the (Hong Kong) Yijing Academy of Social Sciences was registered and established in Hong Kong. In 2007, he published two Yi Xue monographs, “The Wise Man Enjoys Water–The Classic of Modern Forecasting of the Great Liuren” and “The Complete Collection of Liuren” (checked version). In the same year, he was awarded the honorary title of “China’s Yitan Rookie” by the China Architectural Culture Center of the Ministry of Construction. In 2008, Beijing Cuiguan Culture Company was established. In the same year, he published many papers on Yi Xue and Shu Shu in Yi Xue journals such as “Shu Shu” and “Yi Hai Ark”. In August 2009, he was invited to participate in the “Sixth (2009) Yi Xue and Architectural Culture High Level Forum” held by the China Architectural Culture Center of the Ministry of Construction, and gave a special lecture on the traditional Chinese theory of promoting officials.
