The concept of Yin-Yang and Five Elements was formed during the long-term struggle of the ancients against the natural world. There are hundreds of books, three teachings and nine streams, any kind of philosophical thought and literary school are affected to varying degrees by the thought of yin and yang and five elements. The concept of yin and yang and five elements is a simple materialist dialectics. The ancients believed that: Wuwei is the beginning of all things, Wuji gives birth to Taiji, Taiji gives birth to Liangyi, Liangyi gives birth to four images, and four images give birth to gossip. All things are formed by the interaction of yin and yang. A single yang cannot be born alone, and a single yin cannot be formed alone. Yin and yang must match and all things will be born. Just like men and women, they must marry to complete the task of inheriting the family. The ancients’ understanding of yin and yang is dialectical. Different things have yin and yang, and the same thing has different yin and yang attributes.
