In the system of Chinese astrology, besides Guolao Xingzong and the horoscope of birth, there is also a branch of divine numbers that is the most eye-catching. After the Anshi Rebellion in the Tang Dynasty, the official regulations banned the study of astronomy and astrology, and this rule was still followed until the early Northern Song Dynasty. During this period, warlocks began to combine the learning of “Yi”, the learning of Heluo, and the principles of Buddhism and Taoism with the five-star technique and the Ziping technique to create a variety of new life-exerting techniques. Such as Huangji Xiantian Number, Scope Number, Chengshu Dading, Ziwei Doushu, Eight Diagrams Pushing Fate, Nine Palaces and Eight Diagrams Escape Method, Merits and Demerits, Punching the Earth Tiger, Two Meetings Clamp, etc. It is difficult to describe all these. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were new changes in the number of gods, and many branches were developed, gradually forming the theory of five great numbers of gods. The five great numbers refer to Ziwei Doushu, Antarctic Number, North Pole Number, Tieban Number, and Shaozi Number. In addition to Ziwei Doushu which determines the horoscope of the zodiac according to the year, month, day and time of a person’s birth and combines the combination of stars in each house to predict the good and bad fortune of life, the Antarctic number, the North Pole number, the Tieban number, and the Shaozi number The four numbers are all converted into hexagram numbers according to certain rules based on the date of birth, and the good and bad fortune of life can be predicted according to the provisions.

The data of the God of the Arctic is said to have been lost as early as the Ming Dynasty, but there are still manuscripts circulating among the people, and it is not known whether it is authentic.

According to legend, Zhang Guolao passed down the Antarctic God’s Number. According to legend, the Tieban Shenshu was passed down by Mr. Shao Kangjie in the Northern Song Dynasty. There is a saying that the iron plate fixes nails. In the Qing Dynasty, Tiebuzi was carried forward. According to legend, Shao Zi’s divine number was also passed down by Mr. Shao Kangjie to his son Shao Bowen’s number, so there is also the theory of Luoyang school iron plate. Both Tieban and Shaozi’s second numbers are hexagram numbers based on the horoscope of birth and date. Determining a person’s life and life by passing the test time is like a divine judgment. The deduction of the six relatives fascinates future generations. Similar to this method, the folks also have the number of fools, the number of congenital, the number of later days, the number of Jiazi, etc., and so on.

Thirty volumes of “Houtian Shenshu”, a manuscript, hidden overseas, intact, the author is unknown. The first twenty-eight volumes of the book are articles, and the last two volumes are the Kunji codebook. Different from Tieban and Shaozi’s Ershu which use six lines to start hexagrams, “Houtian Shenshu” makes simple and clear inferences based on the twenty-eight mansions combined with eight trigrams and astrology. This book is full of mysteries, and records in detail the life and death, good and bad fortune of each person. The specific assertions are simple and straightforward, and have important literature value and practical value. A few years ago, there were fragments of “Houtian Shenshu” circulated on the Internet, and someone once offered a high price for the complete copy of “Houtian Shenshu”. Now, due to a chance meeting, the full version of “Houtian Divine Number” reappears in the rivers and lakes, which will surely set off a wave of research on divine numbers.
