“Wu Jutong Medical Cases”, a monograph on medical records, 4 volumes. It was written by Wu Tang (Ju Tong) in the Qing Dynasty in the third year of Jiaqing (1798). The book contains a total of 457 medical records. Volume 1 is a special chapter on febrile diseases and typhoid fever, listing 10 types of diseases and containing 143 cases; volumes 2 to 3 are miscellaneous diseases, listing 35 diseases and containing 235 cases; volume 4 is treating women and children, listing 12 diseases species, containing 79 cases. The febrile diseases discussed include wind-warm, febrile epidemic, warm-toxin, winter-warm, summer-warm, summer-heat, damp-warm, moderate-dryness, etc. For each case, the name of the disease is established first, the pulse and syndrome are described secondly, and then the pathogenesis is explained or differential diagnosis is given, followed by prescriptions. The cases are concise and complete, and some medical records have continuous records, which can better understand the law of Wu’s syndrome and treatment. Wu is a master of febrile diseases, and “Tiao Bian of Febrile Diseases” is his representative work. This book can be used as the theoretical practice and supplement of “Tiao Bian of Febrile Diseases”. Wu’s creation of the syndrome differentiation of the triple energizer does not neglect the eight principles, six meridians, Wei Qi Ying Xue, viscera, meridians and other methods of syndrome differentiation.
